Wipers - Youth Of America (1981)

Wipers were making other music than most of the bands in the hardcore-circuit of the early 80s. Instead of making very fast, very short compositions of 30 seconds, they went the other way and even made a song on this record that clocks in at 10 minutes in length. That very fact has increased the keeping quality of this record and it sounds much more up-to-date than a lot of hardcore that was made in the same era.

Wipers had an obvious influence on Hüsker Dü, so if you like that band, I'd recommend you to listen to this album as well.
