Townes Van Zandt - Townes Van Zandt (1969)

At the moment, together with Kimono My House, The Parable of Arable Land, random Caetano Veloso stuff and Youth Of America by Wipers, this is my most listened album. The past couple of months I began to really dig Townes Van Zandt. This is by far his best album, and some of the songs are really something else.

Colorado Girl, I'll Be Here in the Morning and Fare Thee Well, Miss Carousel for instance, are among my favourite songs ever made in the country music genre. I think country can be fantastic by the way, and I find it too populistic of people to hate country music. Here's the evidence people: Country music can be fun, beautiful, and very deep.
