If I had to choose the darkest album in my own collection, I'd choose this album over all the Merzbow, Sunn O))), Earth and Om album I own. Nico does something on this album (and she did it on her other solo albums as well, but not as good as on this one) that cannot be put into words. It is a combination of her icy German accent and scary voice (she grew up some 20 miles from where I grew up), the sparse arrangements and the overall atmosphere.Just listen to this record, so you'll all understand what the heck I'm talking about.
