Stephen David Heitkotter - Heitkotter (1971)

I have always been interested by outsider art. Not only is it often made by musicians with a mental handicap, but it's also always a very clear case of anti-commercialism. The same goes for this album. Stephen David Heitkotter was a boy who lived in a mental institution and recorded this album together with his band mates (also from the same institution) inside the insane asylum. You can hear the drummer is about to have fits and there is a general tension about on this record.

I have to admit that the music isn't always as interesting as I'd like it to be, but it surely is interesting to hear this guy, an early example of someone like Daniel Johnston, express his feelings to the world.
